How to customize the Zendesk Help Center

Introduction:

In this blog post, we provide a quick overview of our video that explains how to customize the Zendesk Help Center (or Guide) template. There are two ways to customize the layout, using the menu options provided by the theme or editing the code. We explain how to do both. The video is included at the bottom of the post and available on our YouTube channel.

Zendesk Help Center

1. Accessing the Help Center Template

The video begins with steps to access the Help Center Admin page, make a backup of the template, and then open the template for customization.


2. Methods to customize the Zendesk Help Center


a. Using the provided objects and configuration options

Use the objects in the navigation pane to customize the template. Here you can set colors, images and configure various options. You would use this option first to design and configure your Help Center to match your brand requirements and basic layout.


b. Making custom code changes

You would use this option to customize aspects of your Help Center that cannot be configured via the provided configuration options. Zendesk provides the ability to add custom code to the various pages.
